As a father
of 3 and a experienced home cook and baker - I've spent the last few years
developing methods to get dinner on the table that tastes great, my kids will
eat and stays in my budget. We love food
and love to cook. We love bread and
pastries and pizza but with 3 kids and bay area costs we figured out that the
only way to eat what we love was to make it at home. I set out on an adventure to learn to bake
everyday and eat as a family at home (almost) everyday. We learned to cook together and cook great
food with as little stress as possible for working people with kids. The result of this adventure are some pretty
great systems that I'd like to share with you.

The cooking course is about learning to make delicious dinner (or any meal) from the foods you keep on hand. Fast fresh preparations from good ingredients are a key value. We avoid prepared foods when we can (we might open a can of tomatoes or beans) and make meals that appeal to you and your family by trying recipes we bring and adapting recipes you like. You will end the course with grocery shopping skill and tools that work for you, a pantry inventory that supports your new cooking skills and tastes, a kitchen that is adapted (as well as your space allows) for easy meal prep and a custom recipe book to get you stared. After the course I will follow up with you and I'll be available for ongoing consultation if needed.
The main goal of the baking course is to teach you an easy system that allows you to make fresh bread, pizzas and treats in a short time any day from stored dough and carefully designed recipes. We'll discuss what kinds of recipes you are interested in learning to make, your skills, your kitchen and your particular needs. We'll set up a time to work in your kitchen. Depending on the size of your kitchen we can work with up to 4 students in a session (kids are welcome). You'll come out of the classes with experience baking and a book of recipes and ideas along with a lot of delicious food. We bring the ingredients. Equipment and supplies are available as needed.
